About

Company Overview

Creative Electronic Systems (CES) is a Swiss manufacturer of specialised computing hardware for the aerospace and defence sector, based in the Geneva area. The company designs and produces single-board computers, avionics interfaces, and graphics cards: the kind of mission-critical electronic components that must perform flawlessly in the most demanding operational environments imaginable.

In avionics, there is no margin for error. Every component must meet stringent certification requirements, withstand extreme conditions, and deliver consistent performance over extended operational lifetimes. CES built its reputation by meeting these exacting standards consistently, earning the trust of defence contractors, aerospace integrators, and government agencies worldwide. With 50 to 100 employees, the company combined deep engineering expertise with the agility to develop custom solutions for specific platform requirements: a capability that larger electronics manufacturers often cannot match.

Partnership

Our Partnership

Helvetica Capital invested in Creative Electronic Systems in April 2012 as a minority shareholder through Credit Suisse Entrepreneur Capital AG. The investment recognised CES's strong position in the niche but strategically important avionics computing hardware market, where Swiss engineering quality and reliability are genuine competitive advantages.

Transition

Transition

Over four years of active minority involvement, we provided strategic support through board participation as CES continued to develop its product portfolio and serve its global customer base in the aerospace and defence sector. The company's specialisation in mission-critical avionics hardware (where product lifecycles are long and customer relationships are built on proven reliability) provided a stable foundation for growth.

When the position was exited in 2016, CES had strengthened its market position and expanded its capabilities, operating as a well-regarded specialist in one of the most technically demanding segments of the electronics industry.
