About
Company Overview
Statron AG is a Swiss specialist manufacturer of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and battery energy storage solutions, built on five decades of engineering heritage. The company designs, manufactures, and services complex, custom-engineered power protection systems: the kind of infrastructure that hospitals, data centres, industrial plants, and public utilities depend on to keep running when the grid does not.
What sets Statron apart is its proprietary technology. Rather than assembling third-party components, Statron develops its own power electronics and control systems, giving it the flexibility to engineer solutions that standard catalogue products cannot match. This is particularly valuable for customers with non-standard requirements: unusual voltage configurations, extreme environmental conditions, or mission-critical applications where off-the-shelf simply is not good enough.
The numbers speak for themselves: over 30,000 UPS systems delivered and installed for more than 3,000 customers across more than 100 countries. Approximately 240 employees (including 60 in Switzerland) work across engineering, production, sales, and after-service operations.
Partnership
Our Partnership
When the former majority shareholder, who had built and shaped Statron over many years, decided the time had come to address the succession question, the priorities were clear: keep the company in Swiss ownership, preserve the technical culture that had made Statron successful, and find a partner who would invest in the company's future rather than simply extract value from its past.
Helvetica Capital structured a transaction in July 2025 that met all three criteria. Swiss entrepreneur-investors acquired Statron alongside the existing ownership group, ensuring continuity of both ownership culture and operational expertise. The previous owners remain involved. The CEO continues to lead the business. A new board was assembled with deep sector expertise in power electronics and industrial technology. This was a succession solution designed to give Statron a stable foundation for its next fifty years.
