About

Company Overview

ASIC Robotics specialised in the sale, assembly, testing, and maintenance of high-tech machine systems for industrial applications. The company occupied a critical position in the industrial automation value chain — not simply selling machines, but providing the complete integration service that transforms individual pieces of equipment into functioning production systems.

This end-to-end capability (from initial system design and equipment procurement through assembly, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance) made ASIC Robotics a valued partner for industrial customers who needed reliable, high-performance automated solutions. With 150 to 200 employees and revenues of CHF 50 to 75 million, the company had built meaningful scale in a technically demanding market, serving customers who depended on uptime and precision in their production processes.

Partnership

Our Partnership

Helvetica Capital invested in ASIC Robotics in April 2013 as a minority shareholder through Credit Suisse Entrepreneur Capital AG. The investment thesis recognised the company's strong position in the growing industrial automation market and the value of its integrated service model: a combination of equipment expertise and long-term maintenance relationships that created deep customer loyalty.

Transition

Transition

Over four years of active minority involvement, we provided strategic support through board engagement while the management team continued to build the business. The company strengthened its service capabilities and expanded its customer base in a period of growing demand for automation solutions across Swiss and European industry.

When the position was exited in 2017, ASIC Robotics was operating as a well-established, profitable automation specialist with a strong order book and a proven management team: a business ready for its next phase of growth under new ownership.
